In 1993 he set up his own business-to-business marketing consultancy helping the British Government promote export trade around the world; including promoting and organising trade missions and promotional events across Europe, Africa and the Far East.
In 2001 he formed Micomms® Ltd with a broader remit of helping businesses develop their reputations using effective communication internally, externally and internationally.
During the past two decades or so Martin has:
- presented at government department conferences on communication programmes, event management and dealing with creative contractors
- written sector reports and case studies for international trade-related publications.
- Written, produced and directed business and trade promotion documentary films for governments at home and abroad.
- assisted with UK Government’s hosting of former president, Nelson Mandela on his first visit to the UK as South Africa’s Premier.

Apart from boosting private sector businesses through effective marketing and communications, he has helped to generate $-millions (or £-millions if you’re British) worth of valuable global trade for the UK.
As well as his marketing consultancy work, he now runs a series of training programmes aimed at skills development in marketing, PR, copywriting and event management.
His highly successful Web-Writers’ WorkshopTM helps marketers from organisations large and small maximise use of the world’s most valuable free promotional tool: the written word.
